The feedback from the first draft said that it was too busy. There was too much going on. My brother suggested bringing it just to the core of what I’m offering… An After Hours Computer Service.

I submit this logo for your comments :)

I’m working on building my After Hours Computer Business. One of the hardest parts was coming up with the visual identity for this business. I knew that I wanted to have a crescent like moon in the "O" of Hours, but wasn’t sure what else to include. So I included all the information that I thought someone would need.

I then sent this link to friends and family. They have given wonderful feedback and I’m in the process of redesigning and resubmitting. I will provide updates as this process continues. Here is the first draft image.

Ubuntu 7.04 - Dell Latitude D620 (Intel Video) 1280 x 800 Resolution

Saturday, August 4th, 2007

So you have a brand-spanking new install of Ubuntu 7.04 on a Dell Latitude D620 the Intel on-board video chipset, but the resolution is stuck at 1024 x 768.  You’ve searched all over the Internet, Ubuntu Forums, etc and can’t find the answer.

Well, I found the answer about three or four months ago, but when I needed the answer today, I couldn’t find it.  I still couldn’t find the answer, but through some trial and error finally found the answer.  Please type the commands below at a console session:

  1. sudo apt-get update
  2. sudo apt-get install xserver-xorg-intel
  3. sudo apt-get install 915resolution

Next, close all programs, and press CTRL + SHIFT + ALT + BACKSPACE.  This will restart your Gnome Session.  You should then be presented the log on prompt at the 1280 x 800 resolution.
